You're a Star

Another card made with left overs, like I said before I made some blue background with Oxides originally for my Lawn Fawn Plane and Simple cards.

I also have the Simon says Stamp Stacked Stars left over from Christmas. I had used the some of the stars but obviously change my mind using the outline but since I had cut it out of glitter card I wasn't going to bin it.

I cut the Simon Says Stamp You're a Star out of black fun foam since I found out the hard way that white didn't show up so well. The fun foam stars came with saying and stuck the main mat onto black card to bring the two together.

Nearly forgot I used the Simon says Stamps Stitched Rectangles.

How much is that doggy in the window

I tried to make a dog that looked like my nephew's puppy not sure I quite managed it but the young lady who I made it for was really pleased with it.

The cushion behind him was made by Dad, he had a special magnifier and he was able to sew the cushion fronts and my sister completed the cushion. I'm so pleased I have this cushion now that Dad has passed away. My daughter has an Eeyore but it's been well loved so I mended it and washed it, once its dried it will be going home with her.

Finally finished my Beach Hut draught excluder, I was in doubt whether it needed one more but my daughter saw and took it home to check before I could photo it. So she send me a picture and it clearly doesn't need another hut. I used a free pattern on Ravelry from Jen Mitchell. I simply made each one and then joined together, there is a weighted bag in each of them with stones.

I even had my sewing machine out not that I'm that good, I made a new bag for my wheelchair cushion but if you have a Barney Bodger for DIY, I'm the Barney Bodger of Sewing. It does the job, I also took up some trousers as well but the the sewing machine as been put away for Easter since we having a family meal on Easter Sunday.

Great Dane

I'm not very good at colouring dogs unless they're in what I call my mice colours so that's why I decided to colour Mo's Dane in a traditional Great Dane colours. I had a childhood friend who had a Great Dane he was huge.

I used the sentiment that came with the image and made the card a CAS one, well that was the idea. The papers are Doodlebug, one piece for the background and then the scraps I had left in the pack I used the Stampin Up Banner punch to make my banner garland.

The pawprints are Paper Smooches die, I cut them out first in a bit of a scrap card so I had a template of them to help layering the black parts. The whole image mat was cut with Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles, I did this before I layered the image.

My sentiment is straight by the way it's obviously my camera skills in question, I used the Tim Holtz Stamp Positioner. The stamps I used to make the sentiment were Simon says Stamp It's your Birthday also their Melody's Easter stamp set.

My sweet little House Mouse from Stampendous is called Willow Climb, what the camera doesn't pick up is that I used Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen over the buds.

Since my House Mouse is tiny I decided to use the Simon Says Stamp Wonky Frame to stop it being plain and it needed something else. What could be better than some delicate leaves that come with the Simon Says Stamp Forget me Knot flowers.

Now I just need a bit of colour and for this I used the Lawn Fawn Really Rainbow.

Sweet Elephants

I managed to get in my craft room yesterday but I almost wished I didn't because things just didn't go to plan which carried on through the day, all sorts of little things were going wrong.

I really wanted to play with some new Simon Says Stamp dies, the ones I used in the end was the cute Happy Clouds which I also cut in grey card so I their eyes were softer than black.

The next die I wanted to use was the Sweet Elephants and I cut them in grey, patterned paper also black for Mama Elephant's eye. To make the sentiment I used the new Oh Baby words but I carefully fussy cut of Oh from the background part.

The Welcome was stamped with Simon says Stamp Baby word stamp set then used the Stitched Banners to make my tiny banner. The papers are Echo Park Sweet Baby Boy, I found that some of the papers would work for a baby card when you don't know the sex of the new baby.

Opps nearly forgot the Simon Says Stamps Stitched Rectangles, a staple of my craft room.

A bit of dodgy photo, I had to straighten it and it made it seem even more crooked!

When I grow Up

I made this a few weeks ago but I didn't like the top cream band, to be honest I'm still not sure but I decided to step away from the layout before I completely ruin it.

The papers are from a big pad that I brought from Home Sense its full of grungy boy papers and since I have more nephew than nieces I knew it would come in handy.

The sticky letter spelling police etc are awful and surprising they're from Simple Stories but they refuse to stick and I had to get out the PVA glue which I applied with a cocktail stick. The stars were on one of the papers that cried out to be cut out.

The stamps are Stampin Up Gorgeous Grunge not sure if they're still available but they are very handy and come with me to all my crops and retreats.

Perfection

This was the card I gave to Hubby for our Ruby Anniversary, I used the Oxides but they seemed to come out more orange than red.

I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to make my middle mat and I used the Simon Says Stamp Clipping Heart with the Oxides background but instead of using the outline I used the actual hearts. I did use the frame to help place the hearts.

I then stamped the You are using Simon Says Stamp Thoughtful messagesI was stamping on slightly raised hearts and it left a bit of gap. To deal with this I took a fine black pen and carefully drew or dotted the ink to hide the gap.

To finish I used the Simon Says Stamp Perfection dies and used sticky fixers to raise it.

Easter Blessings

Well the flu really put paid to blogging and this card was made for the last release from Simon Says Stamp Best Days using the Circle of Flowers die that they sent me. Here you can see I just used the flowers and leaves to decorate my card.

The papers and stamps are from the Simon Says Stamp Card kit but its now sold out but you can reserve the Simon Says Stamp Showers and Flowers stamps and the papers are Carta Bella Spring Market which is also available to buy. The Pom Pom for his tail are available in the shop in various sizes and will come in handy for Christmas cards for snowballs.

Easter Bunny

Gosh this card took a long time to make, I started it over two weeks ago when I first started to feel ill and in the end I put to one side thinking I would come back to it in couple days, if I know it would be so long I may have pushed myself to finish.

Now that Easter is almost upon us I've Mo Manning's Bunny with a Basket he was nice and easy to colour. I've used some old Doodlebug papers and the daisies are Upsy Daisy from MFT with a Memory Box Leaf die. I used my mixture of Fun Flock and Flower soft to make his bobble tail.

I spent the best part of yesterday trying to install a new printer only to find there is a fault because I couldn't align the inks to stop printing lines across the photos. So I packed it up and ordered a replacement looks like Friday I may be repeating today, Fingers crossed this one does as it told.

Confession time first, I had seen a card that had used border dies to make a fancy background and the  flowers meet down the length of the card was a sketch I recently seen. The two ideas have been stuck in my head for some time, since Mr Mojo left the building as soon as Hubby and I got ill with flu it helped me out, bringing my challenge card for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

The moment I saw the Altenew Creative Edges Lace Border die I knew I had to use it, of course everyone loves it too and it's now sold out but to be honest the idea can be used with all sorts of Border dies. In fact while looking for some I now have a shopping basket full of border dies!

You probably guessed I love the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Daisies dies, on this card I've used just the small one. Now instead of using the Simon says Stamp Circle of Leaves die cutting out the leaves I discovered Simon Says Stamp Forget me Not Flowers dies and it has the gorgeous delicate leaves, how did I miss them originally but hey ho I've got them now.

Finally I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Banners and Simon Says Stamp Ranunculus stamp set to make the sentiment. I love this technique I'm sure I will be using it again.

Stick Frame

So this would've of been my Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge card for last week but I was still feeling very rough with this flu my Hubby decided would be fun to share. To be honest I'm still snotty and coughing constantly.

Had to check the challenge to see what it was but we had a fabulous inspiring Easter Mood Board and we were showing casing Your Next Stamp. I decided on using the Rectangle Stick die and I cut it out a few times and made the background leaving a slightly larger frame for my images.

It just so happens that the March Card Kit had arrived in my craft room although now sold out you can still buy the Simon Says Stamp stamps I used separately, the set I used is called Choose Joy. I stamped them using a Memento Inkpad and coloured in with Polychromos pencils.

Finally I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Banners for the sentiment which is in the stamp set.

Mother's Day

We normally take a card I've made for Mother's Day to the cemetery but this year we've both recovery from Flu so instead I added a photo of my Mum with her card.

I first made the leaf background using Pinkfresh Dainty Flowers, I then used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Daisies. They need some leaves so I used the Simon Says Stamp Circle of leaves but just cut out and used the leaves.

They needed a frame so I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Ovals to make it. Before I layered up the card I worked out where I wanted to add the tiny sentiment from Simon says Stamp Best Mom Ever stamp set. The main sentiment was from the same stamp set but once the ink had dried I cut it out using the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Banners.

Circle of Flowers

I was lucky to receive a die from Simon Says Stamp Best Days Release this die is called Blooming Circle.

I decided first off to use as normal first I worked out that the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles one of which just about fits the centre. I also used the Simon says Stamp Stitched Squares to complete the notelet.

I added gold dots to blooming circle and cut out the flowers in purple, pink and leaves green card. The sentiment is Simon says Stamp Thoughtful Messages

Hoppy Easter

Its Easter at the end of the month so it's time to use some favourite Easter images. This one is called Valerie Bunny from Mo Manning the sentiment comes with the stamp perfect for the image.

The papers are some left over from an old Doodlebug pack, I 've used the Memory Box Cloud Frame along with the Slopes and Hills from Simon Says Stamp. By cutting them separately I was able to lengthen the cloud mat to fit the style of card better and allowed my sentiment to fit better.

The flowers are cut from that random die set I have no idea who makes it and the centres are cut from Stamping Up punches. Yes that the Flowersoft and Fun Flock mixture to make bunny hat fluffy.

Winnie and Walter

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Anything Goes Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week the challenge is to make something for a girl, think feminine.

Girl Power

We are showcasing Winnie and Walter Products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have them we would love to see them used.

I ended up stepping away from the card because I kept adding things to it. First of I stamped the Winnie and Walter Happy Birthday to you cake with yellow ink then pink ink from the Simon Says Stamp Hybrid Fresh Fruit Ink Pads. I then cute the tops of the cakes and swapped them around.

I recently received the Simon Says Stamp Wonky Rectangles so I had to use that at least some where so it's the back ground mat to my birthday cake which I raises with some 3d mini squares and extra strong tape on the sides.

I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to layer under my wonky frame, it was at this point I thought it looked too simple so I decided to use the Avery Elle Balloon numbers stamp and dies in matching colours.

But I still wasn't happy so I searched for some leaves to make a pretty background and I found some I liked in the Simon Says Stamp Oh Happy Day stamp set.  Even then I wasn't happy so I stamped the flowers on a bit of card and cut them out using the dies. I placed the flowers in the corner opposite the balloons then they needed leaves which again I stamp and cut out.

Wasn't happy with all the white space above my cake so I placed a flower there. I added some Glossy Accents in the centre of flowers and now it was time to walk away. Then my camera decided it didn't like the glossy accents and that why suddenly I have orange centres.
