Splitcoast sketch

Now you all know I love sketches and I'm always on the look out for one that inspires and challenges me well last week I saw this sketch on Splitcoast Stampers and I knew I wanted to use it.
Its for Sketch Challenge 476.
I used a Tiddly Ink image and the MFT crochet border for my circle, I even backed the it too because the part of the back was on show and the cutting the border to place round looks messy on the back.
The papers are either Authentique or My Minds Eye they have lost their cover I do know I brought from Simon Says Stamps.
My daisy is also MFT hopefully the leaves belong to the die too but they may belong to another flower set.
To finish I used Simon Says Stamp Happy die and sentiments stamp set. Oh the twine is Doodlebug.

I need to try and catch up with making some cards over the weekend since the following weekend I'm off for Scrapbooking weekend and I ususally need a few rest days afterwards.

Nikki's card

Told you I was feeling guilty about the quick CAS for this morning so I thought I show what I made at Nikki's make a take using that pesky stamp that I've had to order Off the Grid.
I don't know what its about making cards in front of others but things always go wrong, my grid has been stamped differently to Nikki's and I should know that small stamps and juicy inkpad to go easy when stamping so my stars have halos.
I didn't use the Father's day sentiment but used the Get Well looking at it now I would have like to add a couple of brad at each of the bunting.

Cogs

When I went to the craft fair last Sunday we were looking at dies at one stall and my friend was saying how she liked the cogs. I said they were a good size for cards compared with the large cogs original sizzix die. This is what my friend does make me look at something I would of past by giving it a second look and end up buying them.

I'm so glad I picked them up and though I hadn't planned to use them straight away I decided to use some gold, silver and copper paper to cut them out which means they look like metal so I could enter the Less is More challenge. Just in case the paper metal doesn't cut it the brads in the centres are metal.

The Off the Grid stamp that Nikki used at another friends Stampin Up party would have looked great on this card but I had to make do with these grungy stamps. (don't worry the Off the Grid has been ordered).
I always feel guilty about CAS this one is included the only part that took a long time was moving the cogs around till I was happy.

First of all I've used Bazzill Timeless pack, I obviously had an idea what I wanted to make with them but when I sat down to make the card I discovered it had snowflakes in the paper pack. Wasn't ready for Christmas cards yet lucky for me they're double sided and there's plenty of non Christmas patterns. The papers are fabulous and such good quality.
The dotty paper gave me the idea to paper pieced an image and I needed a card for my DD to wish her well in her new job and decided that Audrey from Stamping Bella would be perfect. I stamped her on the patterned card this will be my guide when it came to layering the different parts of the image.
I finally have the curved edge die from Simon Says Stamps and it needed to be used, to me it made a plain card look more interesting.
I've used Memory box Cityscape and Lavish Branch also their Classic letter dies with pearls to finish.

So now it's YOUR turn ! Happy Crafting !!

Spring colours

Since I always blog in the mornings it wouldn't be right to not pop a card on my blog until the Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge at 2pm. But I didn't have one all my drafts are gone and Mr Mojo hasn't returned, the last straw was a finished card that I managed to get a dirty mark on and I couldn't cover it to make it a happy accident! It went in the bin and I haven't felt like making cards since.
I felt guilty for not using much of the Feb Simon Says Stamp kit, one I'm having difficulties cutting the papers they are so pretty but I love the stamp set but this is where Mr Mojo has flew the coop.
I had the idea for this when I saw last weeks Freshly Made sketches and even though the sentiment is not centred I didn't want to split the thinking word. It was bit rushed but at least I have a card for today.

Us

I'm not keen on this layout something is missing and I may have to relook at it but this is layout for week 9. The papers are really old from Piggy Tales I think.
I've used Fresh Foliage and the Park Bench from Memory Box.
Even now looking at it, I thinking theres something now right no good pretending is CAS!

Fabulous

I'm pretty sure it Tuesday so that means a new Everybody Art Challenge this week its for Lace or Ribbon but in mycase I've used both.
The fabulous image is from Mo Manning and is called Fabulous too.
Pretty sure the layout is from a Sketch but I haven't a clue now cos I'm pretty sure it went its own way once I laid the Floral Oval image mat.
For a change I've used nice sunny colours with some old papers from Stampin Up and the flowers are a EK success but the leaves are Lavish Foliage.

Do pop over and check out the rest of the team and hope you can join us this week.

And so it continues

We now have stud walls waiting for pipes, wires and insulation.

The new part of the patio won't match the rest so originally we said could they order slabs for the old part but we've now decided they can lay as well, my builder reckons it won't take long!

They've gone up into the room space ready for the new back door.

This tiny space is mine, it may look on paper I have a large room but actually is smaller than the one I left.

Silver Wedding

I've been asked to make a Silver Wedding card I hope this is what they are hoping but I will probably make another so they can choose.
I wanted to emboss the middle of the large heart die from Simon says Stamps to see if it would work and I think it worked fine especially had I had to cut it out so the silver thread showed. If you do one heart you need to do the other but the tiny one I left.
The sentiment is Tilted Banners, with the stamp set that goes with the set.
In keeping with the embossing I used the Tim Holtz Bricked and the dotty scallops is a Memory Box die.

I've even made an envelope box, since Nikki has the Stampin Up envelope punch and lent it to me to play to see if I really needed one, I do but got one at the craft fair. Didn't buy too much a couple of dies and a few sentiment stamps from Woodware and some essentials pack of magnetic sheets for the artbin and a memento pad.

Congratulations

Did I mention that I'm very CAS even with my fussy cards at the moment well the paper I had chosen for the beautiful Saturated Canary image didn't help. How can I cut this most gorgeous paper it was bad enough to cut the bottom but there was no way I could hide it either.
I used the curved border dies from Spellbinders and the used white embossing powder for the Congratulations stamp which is from the Perfect Love set from Simon Says Stamps.

To finish I used the snowflake stencil to help me randomly dot with liquid pearls. Today Hubby is taking  me to the Sincerely Yours Show at Bracknell who will be curbing my spending possibly a good idea but some red tape and a Memento inkpad are top of my list.

For Betty

I had to make a special card for a very important person it was for her 90th Birthday and unfortunately she would have moved from Redwood my Mum's Nursing Home a few days before it. So I had promised to make her a card and send it to her new home. My heart went out to her because she was dreadfully upset leaving a place she called home for several years and I feel angry to the people who were responsible for making this happen.
Anyway the card was the perfect excuse to make a card using some fabulous dies I've hardly used and it worked so well with the  Die Crazy Challenge with Simon says Stamps at Lovefest on Splitcoast Stampers.

You don't have to use Simon Says stamps die to join in but they would love it if you do. There are other challenges and prizes too. If you are not a member nows the time to join and if you are what are you waiting for.
For my card I've use Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles and the Happy die and sentiment, with Memory Box numbers.

Eggcup Mice

The Clean and Simple cards continue with a Penny Black card this time I've used these cute eggcup mice.
My patterned papers I believe are First Edition but the covers have long disappeared to know which. I used Whimsy embossing folder for the bottom and using Liquid Pearls for pearls rather that sticky on ones. My curved is cut using the Simon Says Stamps curved border die finally managed to get my hands on one.
My border along the curve and round my oval mat is from MFT the Crochet Border die don't think I will ever stop using it since it workd so well.

Over on Splitcoast Stampers they have amazing sponsored LoveFest and Simon Says Stamp is one of the sponsors. I have a card waiting in their gallery ready for their challenge but I not sure how the time there works with the time here so I will post my card here when I know for sure it is published over there!
You have to be a member to join in but honestly it a fabulous site with lots of inspiration, challenges and galleries, its where I go if I need to find out about a technique or even a style of card.

Spit Happens

Mr Mojo is definitely missing I think he's fed up with living in a pickle I know I am. So the cards I've made recently are more CAS then fussy.
Although this card is using the Sketch Saturday sketch I've actually cut out the circle and place the image behind it but the camera doesn't pick this up so not going to do that again.
I had to move the star a bit cos it would be over his foot.
The little chap is called Spit Happens and one of my favourites of Mo Manning's babies just don't like the name he's far to cute to be called Spit.
The papers are LOTV I chose them cos they are close to colours I used for the crochet blanket.

Expecting the electrician today and the boys are back on Monday.

Proceeding along

So now we don't have a door and the reason the gate went in this is optimise the space inside.

sorry for the fussy pic but this is inside bit concerned they need something to hold it up but been told this while the cement sets.

This window is now blocked in I'm thinking shelves.

Bricks for the stud work this is how high the floor need raising to match the rest of the house, at this point I can see how small my space is going to be. Have been advised I need another sort out.

This been the gate with a few security measures that you can't see, once building work is finished a nice climbing rose is going to be planted to go over the trellis and Hubby has decided on the thorny bushes that will be planted in front of the wall. Other measures have been taken with the shed and more to come.

Dark colours

We are Blog Hopping again at Mo's Dream Team and our host this month is Kaly and she has chosen Teen and dark colours. I don't have a problem using Johan one of Mo's fabulous teen image, dark colours not sure I could pull that off.
I used these grungy yellow papers and added black card, the cityscape is from Memory Box I must remember next time to buy the solid die to go behind make life a lot easier. I used the large Joy corner cos I realised the white wooden card was too stark which why I layered the black behind it. The music script is also Memory Box with a sneaky join cos it wasn't long enough. To finish MFT music notes randomly laid around.

So now the important part of a Blog Hop, you should have arrived from teamie JULIE  and now you need to Hop Skip and Jump over to HEIDY. Don't forget to comment on the way to be in with a chance to win one of the two gift vouchers to spend in Mo's shop.

50dollar_voucher_600px

My Prima product is the paper Hello Pastel  and has you can see its very pretty and made colouring of the Stamping Bella Emily and Ryan under the Umbrella image lovely to do.
You can see I paper pieced the umbrella but the image is smaller because I've used a polaroid die from MFT. I carefully laid it on one the sheets of  patterned paper so the bottom would have some pretty flowers as you can see it worked a treat.
My sentiment was easy cos I just used the Tilted Banners and sentiments. I found it really hard to decorate but decided on the La La land Filgree corners and the Large Holiday Shapes from Simon Says Stamps

So now it's YOUR turn ! Happy Crafting !!
